There is a particular quality to a golf course after five in the evening. The light changes. The pace slows. The conversation gets better.
In late summer 2025, eight players gathered for the first Laur Golf Edition. Nine holes. One format. Closest to the pin.
It is, by design, one of the purest tests in golf. No accumulated score to hide behind. No recovery hole after a bad one. Every shot on every par three is the moment — and everyone on the course knows it. Eight players, one flag, and the distance between your ball and the hole is the only number that matters.
The round began in the warmth of a late summer afternoon and finished as the light softened into early evening. Nine holes at that hour has a different rhythm than a morning round — more deliberate, quieter, with the kind of focus that arrives naturally when the day is winding down and the game is still very much alive.
The competition was close. The prize went to the player who earned it — a conventional trophy, nothing elaborate. In a closest to pin format, the margin between winning and not is often a matter of inches. On this evening, those inches were decided on the green with the last group still watching.
After the round, the players moved to the clubhouse. The collection was still being worn. Cinnamon and Midnight Blue in the early evening air — the temperature had dropped just enough to make Grade A Mongolian cashmere the obvious choice.
Laur organized the First Edition with one intention: to create a recurring gathering for people who approach both their game and their wardrobe with the same standard. Not a corporate event. Not a brand activation. A golf day, done properly.
